I enjoyed
this week’s meditation practice because it brought my mind to ease. The woman’s voice was low and kept me
interested in her next instruction. I
liked the background music mostly because it was the sound of the ocean waves
crashing. The two things that relax my
mind, body, and spirit are the ocean and birds.
I love to be at the beach and just sit in quiet with the beautiful
sounds around me. This exercise made me
feel the most relaxed out of all the exercises this semester. I believe that this is because I have grown
and developed health and wellness techniques throughout this course. I would like to continue doing these
exercises even after this class has finished.
Unfortunately, I can see myself letting go of these activities as time
passes, but we will see.
“One cannot
lead another where one has not gone himself” (Micozzi, p. 477). Healthcare professionals should be healthy in
their own psychological, physical, and spiritual wellbeing so they can give the
highest level of care to their patients.
We as healthcare professionals should be the role model for our
patients. We cannot recommend our
patients to stop smoking if we are smokers. I like how Ken Wilbur stated, “having a map
of Hawaii is not like actually being there”. (Micozzi, p. 477). We never stop growing, learning, and
developing as each day passes. We can
always better ourselves which will benefit others we come in contact with.
